Ordering Baskets for an Egg Hunt: Sizes, Spares and the Afternoon After

Three things decide whether a hunt runs well, and only one of them is the basket itself.

Size by what it weighs full

An empty basket tells you nothing about whether a four-year-old can carry it.

For young groups, more small baskets beats fewer large ones every time.

Order spares on purpose

Things get stood on. It is not a possibility, it is a certainty.

Spares belong on the quote, not hidden inside the count.

Plan for four o’clock

Two hundred identical baskets on a hall floor and nobody knows whose is whose.

Colour coding by group, or a name where it can be read while the basket is down.

Then plan for next year

Nested stacks sized to your crate, and a note of where they are going to live.

That is the difference between reordering annually and reordering once.
